It is with deep sadness that Quilt Art learned of the death of Allie Kay on 15 July 2015.  Allie had been a member of Quilt Art since 2009. The group will greatly miss her beautiful work and her valuable and insightful artistic input. Allie, who lived in Cork, studied textiles at Winchester School of Art and her original background was hand-weaving. Through teaching, she started to explore different materials and techniques, using personal, historical and social sources as an inspiration for works where the materials and surfaces suggested images, ideas and layers of meaning.
